Technology
When we think about technology, we cannot help thinking about computers, planes, satellites, and many more advanced tools. However, technology is not merely about all those things. We can find technologies around us that are also important but that we take for granted, just because they serve simple application. Take a ladder for example. Have you ever thought of a ladder as a technology? As a matter of fact, it is. Even though it is simple, it serves its purposes nicely. Imagine what you would do without a ladder when you wanted to go on the roof, or when your father wants to trim the branches.
Some technologies, such as hammers, saws, ladders, can openers, etc…, are called light technologies. Besides usually being lightweight, they are called light technology because they are based on uncomplicated applications of science and their usage is pretty easy.
Now can you think of examples of electronic technologies? Some examples of electronic technologies are televisions, radios, telephones, computers, projectors, and many more. We can find these technologies everywhere, in our homes, schools, offices, hotels, or even streets. Besides helping us to work more efficiently, there technologies also provide us with entertainment and education. Take a computer, for example. We have expanded the primary purpose of home computers from being used mostly for typing to being used for all sorts of information and communication through the Internet. We can also play games for our enjoyment with our computers.
29.  What is the main idea of paragraph 2?
A.  Lightweight technologies
B.   Uncomplicated application of science
C.   Pretty easy of light technologies usage
D.  Modern and complicated technologies
30.  Why do we take technologies around us for granted?
A.  Because they serve simple usage
B.   Because they are traditional technologies
C.   Because they serve complicated application
D.  Because they are sophisticated technologies
